The Spring 2020 shows have wrapped up in Paris and once again we were wowed by the incredible creativity of the fashion artisans at the biggest houses. ALEXANDER MCQUEEN
What is not to love about ‘punk pirate hair’?! This look managed to take those extremes and infuse them with an incredibly romantic vibe. Each model was given customised braids which were heavily influenced by the Victorian era and British sensibility. The excitement of age-old pirates on the high seas was also referenced with the small braid in the front and the luxe gold ribbon wrapped around each of the plaits. Add to that the wet look feel which was given to the hair and the models magically glistened under the runway lights.
MIU MIU
We were obsessed with the extreme retro look at Miu Miu as it was just so different and nostalgic. Described as ‘librarian geek chic’ the models wore reinvented cardigans and vests with an edge. The hair look was a stand-out of the week thanks to it’s homage to the old school, tissue-set, 40’s style curls. Here hair is literally wrapped in sections with a tissue, heated with an iron and then allowed to cool. The curls are then carefully brushed out to create volume and then it is squared off at the back.
CELINE
There is nothing cooler than a nod to the classic era of the 70’s when it comes to hair. The hair back then was thick and luscious with plenty of length and volume- ultra flattering for most people. The hair here looked low maintenance but luxurious with a bevy of centre parts and chunky bangs. The shag layers are key for the authenticity of this look and the style was left loose and slightly wavy. Love this ultra-feminine style- on girls and guys!
