The Oscars have just been and as always, it was a celebration of film, style, celebrity and most importantly- hair! The best hairdressers Paddington have scoured the carpet to report back on our favourite looks and the ones that you will be obsessed with as well. While we were loving the stunning awards looks, we also loved the after-party looks. Because let’s face it, that’s where you can, literally, let your hair down.

Here we break down a few of our favourite day to night styles;

FLORENCE PUGH

Still growing out her edgy buzzcut, we love how Flo is transitioning through different hair lengths with effortless style. Currently rocking the very ‘in’ bob, we love that she has taken it super tousled here. The deep side part bucks the middle part trend and the swept over lift at the crown adds a touch of drama.

Then she went from out to up, making a simple step of pulling up the length to give the look of a chignon. She smartly kept the face framing section out to add some interest and give the look a fresh and organic feel.

EMILY BLUNT

In a sea of tumbling curls, Emily’s Grecian goddess inspired updo was a stand-out. The look manages to be both soft and strong at the same time, with the hair softly textured but pulled into a strong shape. The hair was teased and then braided into a fishtail to capture the beading on her dress- a perfect example of how to get your hair to complement your overall look.

Then she let it all down with a classic centre-part sleek style. This look is effortless. The hair is gently tucked behind the ears to let her features shine and the finish is polished and sleek, with just the right hint of wave. Understated perfection.

JENNIFER LAWRENCE

It feels like Jennifer knew that this year’s style called for classic and simple. It wasn’t her big night so she let her stunning polka dot vintage Dior do the talking. This look is all about bespoke colour and condition with a fresh, buttery caramel blonde and a soft finish. Again, love the deep side part but this look has more subtle height and wave.

Bucking the trend of letting your hair down, we love that she added some texture and curl and then pulled that back. The curl really adds more dimension and an ethereal quality to the look, and the hair has been pulled back into a low tested bun. It’s soft and romantic and looks like she just stepped out of an Austen novel.
